Kanika Satyanand, Executive Board Member1>

Kanika Satyanand holds a post-graduate degree in Sociology from the Delhi School of Economics, Delhi University. She has spent most of her working life, spanning 33 years, in the not-for-profit sector.
After volunteering with SEWA Delhi and the Ashoka Foundation in the early ’80s, she did a stint with the Foundation for Organisational Research (FORE), where she managed and authored action research studies for public sector undertakings including BHEL, ONGC, SAIL and IPCL in the area of Human Resource Development and Organisational Design.
Subsequently, as Executive Director of SRUTI for 15 years, she shaped and directed the organisation’s programmes in support of grass root struggles and people’s movements throughout India. Apart from her engagement as Programme Advisor and member of the Board of Trustees of FORRAD (Foundation for Rural Recovery & Development) , she currently holds positions on the board of The Hunger Project, India as its chairperson, and SRUTI. She has been co-editor and contributing author for two all India studies: ‘India’s Artisans – A Status Report’ and ‘Seen but not Heard – India’s marginalised, neglected & vulnerable children’.
