Afaq’s journey as a passionate advocate for social justice began early when he actively engaged in progressive student politics. Drawing upon the wealth of experience gained during those formative years, he returned to his hometown, Faizabad, to channel his fervour for change into tangible action.

For the past decade, he has played a pivotal role as a co-founder of the Awadh People’s Forum, a grassroots organization committed to forging alliances and addressing the concerns of the youth. These centers serve as transformative hubs, equipping young minds with essential life skills and knowledge to facilitate civic engagement. The programs offered at these centers foster a constructive and optimistic narrative that fuels social change. He has also organised film festivals, and music groups and used theatre as a transformative space to engage with a diverse audience.
