Ravi is the co-founder of Samata, an advocacy group fighting to safeguard the rights of the tribals. The organisation moved the Supreme Court to stop non-tribals from mining in tribal areas resulting in a landmark ruling now known as the ‘Samata Judgement’ which is used all over the country to fight against encroachment on tribal lands by mining companies.

Kanika Satyanand, Member

Kanika Satyanand holds a post-graduate degree in Sociology from the Delhi School of Economics, Delhi University. She has spent most of her working life, spanning 33 years, in the not-for-profit sector.

After volunteering with SEWA Delhi and the Ashoka Foundation in the early ’80s, she did a stint with the Foundation for Organisational Research (FORE), where she managed and authored action research studies for public sector undertakings including BHEL, ONGC, SAIL and IPCL in the area of Human Resource Development and Organisational Design.
